Co-exhibitor of AOC Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Château Maucoil is a historic 43-hectare estate located in the north of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, on a terroir of safres and the Villafranchian plateau. Nestled in a green setting, the estate cultivates its vines in a single block using organic farming and biodynamic methods. Its range includes Côtes du Rhône Villages and Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, both white and red, made mainly from Grenache but also from the 13 grape varieties of the appellation.
The estate is moving towards terroir studies and parcel-based selections, using single-varietal approaches, and the style of the wines is geared toward freshness and elegance, with a clearly asserted Burgundian signature, reinforced by the recent arrival of Pierre Vincent, named Best Red Winemaker at the International Wine Challenge in London in 2010 and 2014.
