Co-exhibitor of Business France
Pioneering, visionary and modern in all that he does, Silvio Denz likes to repeat that he is first and foremost in the business of selling emotions.
After following a career in finance and then in the family perfume company he founded the perfume company Art & Fragrance in 2000 (renamed Lalique Group in 2016). In 2005 he acquired Chateaux Peby Faugères, Faugères, promoted to Saint-Emilion Grands Crus Classés in 2012 and Cap de Faugères (Castillon - Côtes de Bordeaux). He purchased the prestigious French crystal company LALIQUE in 2008.
On the right bank of Bordeaux wine region, it is from the terrace of the Faugères ‘cathedral cellar’ that you can truly grasp the full expanse and nuances of Vignobles Silvio Denz. From this headland, there is a perfect view of the grand triangle of vines form by these three vineyards. To the east, the Merlot of Péby Faugères rubs shoulders with the Faugères plots where Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon mingle with Merlot, whilst the vines of Cap de Faugères cover 18 hectares further south.
Last addition to Vignobles Silvio Denz’ collection, on the left bank, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey vineyards lie at the heart of the appellation, overlooking the village of Bommes. This 1er Grand Cru Classé en 1855 Sauternes is blessed with exceptional vines, which are planted on Quaternary gravel soils deposited on an Aquitanian limestone substrate over 600,000 years ago. It is no surprise that Lafaurie-Peyraguey wine appears in second place on the list of Sauternes Premiers Grands Crus Classés drawn up as part of the 1855 classification. To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the estate, the businessman has developed a luxury hotel concept based on a synergy between LALIQUE crystal and the vineyard – a marriage of savoir-faire and French savoir-vivre.
