Pascal Delbeck is one of our most cherished «Talented Winemaker». The former manager of Château Ausone and ex-owner of Château Belair - both historic 1er Crus Classés in Saint-Emilion - continues to work wonders in Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion, the most confidential of the so-called satellite AOCs, as well as in Lalande de Pomerol. Pascal Delbeck comes from a long line of winegrowers going back five generations in Libourne, and trained in viticulture and oenology in Bordeaux. He has always defended the specificity of Bordeaux wines and the truth of the terroir. He was one of the pioneers, on the Right Bank, of the gravity-fed, multi-container vat room to vinify according to plot. His daughter, Amandine Delbeck, and son-in-law, Matthieu de Boüard, are now taking over from him. Âme de Musset comes from five hectares of deep gravel on clay with iron dross. The blend favours Merlot, with some Cabernet Franc and Sauvignon. While the winemaker is usually known for his classic wines, Âme de Musset stands out for its rich, powerful style.
