Carlos I is born from the distillation of the best quality white wines. We select the heart, which is the purest and most aromatic part, through a discontinuous process in 19th century copper stills taking place in our own distillery. Afterwards, the distillate is then aged in American oak sherry casks that contained the most select Amontillados and Olorosos wines from Jerez for 40 years, known worldwide as “Sherry casks”, giving our brandy those nuances and aromas that build up the personality of Carlos I. It is the long years in those American oak casks, the dynamic and organic Criadera and solera system, and the expert hand of the master blender who wisely mixes the distillates that forge its unique and inimitable character.
The history of Carlos I dates back to 1889 when, in the city of Jerez, a master winemaker found in his cellar some barrels containing the most exquisite brandy he had ever tasted.
